about

This is an rework of a song I wrote in 2011 - it's about having to flee home, or a country, or a situation - it's about riding the metaphoric or real notorious iron Beast out of your country or situation on a perilous journey regardless of which is taken in the hope of a better future..
The title of this track is based upon the notorious Beast that travels from Mexico to USA - any proceeds from this track will be donated to Las Patronas De Bestia www.facebook.com/theguardian/videos/610293662491734/

lyrics

Ride
Riding
Ride
Riding the beast out of here
There's no question there is danger
But it pales
In comparison
To the stake in your heart
That tears you apart
Each time you seek
And you do not find
Mother love

You
Take on the night
Heedless of your plight
You, are the lion brave
You've got to take the risk
But wheres it heading

You just wouldn't mind
If you didn't have to witness
The poisoning
Of your mother's mind
By her partner in crime
Each time you seek
And you do not find
Mother love

You jump the iron beast
Alone now
There is an eerie peace
Before the storm you face
Is raging
May the promise
Of the land of hope
Bring you glory

Ride it, ride it, ride the beast
Ride it, ride it, ride the beast
Ride it ride it ride the beast

about

Janine Rainforth London, UK

”As Rainforth forges a new musical future, it’s important not to divorce it from her fearless and catalytic past...it’s a sweeping, ambient sound which recalls ..the otherworldly ethereal wave of Liz Fraser’s work with This Mortal Coil,or even the contemporary avant-pop of Zola Jesus or Glasser..”Crack Magazine Janine Rainforth – founder of Maximum Joy – makes her solo music in her London studio. ... more
